But it was not a dead end for the human miraculous inventions, as these cordless phones were only useful within a short range of the signal, therefore, unable to satisfy the human thirst for innovation. Human nature always wants more.

This thirst was alleviated by modern phones that gave people access to a wide range of signals. These modern phones are also known as a cellular phones, and cell phones. Through these phones, people can make and receive calls over a radio link while moving around a wide area. The first handheld mobile cell phone was demonstrated by Motorola in 1973. Later, these cell phones evolved to be called smartphones.

Ericsson was the first brand to actually use the phrase “smartphone”, with the release of its GS88 in 1997. With the span of time, the smartphones became smarter. People not only make calls, but also send the text message, picture, images, videos, sound clips, and have an access to the internet. The usage of smartphones also increased with the increase of the features of cell phones. A report in Wikipedia shows that from 1983 to 2014, worldwide mobile phone subscriptions grew from zero to over 7 billion, penetrating 100% of the global population. Seeing this much increase in the usage and purchase of smart phones one can easily say that there is a long paved road for the future of Smartphones.

When Apple and Samsung stepped into this war of making smartphones, they left every other company behind. They have produced miracles in the form of smartphones with touch-screens, wider screens, and an easier access to the internet and to different apps. They have set a new era of cell phones. The forthcoming generations will be more enthusiastic about having smartphones in their pocket, as these gadgets are getting handier day by day.

With the promise to make life much easier, smartphones have gained much of people’s attention. These phones have scattered among people like a virus which will grow with the passage of time. People are becoming more dependent on these machines, as their abilities and success now lie with these smartphones. One can easily see a very bright future of these Smartphones, even brighter than the future of any other invention in this world.
